I have a reoccurring dream. So in it, every time Im usually either by myself or with one other person. Im never ME but I also retain like a baseline knowledge of the dream. So I forget what leads to me finding this place buts its like a liminal space. Its always like mid century modern mansion and an abandoned mall had a baby. Anways so it typically consists of whatever “person” I am at the time entering a primary building that then teleports me to this space, in it there are typically “artifacts” be it watches, money, glasses, etc. Little things that catch your attention and that you might pocket, but its a trap because once you touch those items you begin to become paralyzed, like sleep paralysis type deal and time and your body slows down (in your mind so it feels like your imprisoned but aware of everything, where even trying to move a finger takes seemingly years) and then eventually on one of the blinks you can finally muster you’re teleported to this almost attic like space, where there’s this looming sense of impending dread, but if you can find the “ball” (it always changes form but always some spherical object) and bounce it 3 times while you picture an exit (think its tied to the sense of exiting) I finally wake up. This dream that Im reoccurringly having is definitely one where I die. Something kills me in the attic portion of the dream. Thats how I figured out after the first time that the attic area is time sensitive and I need to find the sphere (theres multiple spheres but you have to find the right one) especially before the sleep paralysis kicks in fully
Dreams like the one you described can be quite vivid and impactful, especially since you've been experiencing it recurrently. Let's explore some elements of this dream and their possible interpretations:
Changing Identity: The fact that you're never "you" but retain some knowledge suggests a journey of self-exploration or discovery. You may be examining different facets of your personality or dealing with changing roles or identities in your waking life. This can also symbolize empathy, or trying to understand perspectives outside of your own.
Liminal Space: A "liminal space," like the blend of a mid-century modern mansion and an abandoned mall, often symbolizes transition or transformation. Such spaces suggest being in between phases, perhaps you're dealing with uncertainty or are on the threshold of major life changes.
Artifacts: The items that catch your attention might represent distractions or temptations in your life. They could symbolize things that appear valuable or intriguing but might lead to negative consequences if pursued too eagerly.
Paralysis Feeling: Being paralyzed in dreams can symbolize feeling trapped or powerless in some aspect of your life. This could relate to current situations where you feel stuck or unable to move forward.
The Attic: Attics in dreams often symbolize the mind or memories. The sense of impending dread you mention might relate to fears or anxieties lurking in your subconscious. This part of your dream may highlight unresolved issues or worries that you need to confront.
The Sphere: The "ball" or sphere can symbolize wholeness, completion, or focus. Finding the right one to escape might indicate the need for precise solutions or clarity to resolve an issue in your life.
Death in Dream: Dying in dreams is often not literal but can signify the end of something or a necessary transformation. It might indicate letting go of old habits, beliefs, or phases to develop or transition into something new.
Escape Method: Bouncing the sphere three times and picturing an exit reflects a reliance on intuition and visualization. It suggests that envisioning your desires and goals clearly might help you find solutions in waking life.
Overall, this dream seems to encapsulate themes of seeking clarity amidst change, overcoming distractions, and the importance of facing and overcoming one’s fears or challenges. It might also be your subconscious urging you to complete certain transitions in your life, whether they are emotional, relational, or career-related. Being aware of it recurring provides an opportunity to address these deeper concerns consciously.
Reflect on these elements in context with your current life situation to gain deeper insights and meaning from this recurrent dream.
